The first issue of the Newfoundland Sportsman magazine was published in the Fall of 1990 and has since grown from a local quarterly to an international bi-monthly, full colour publication. Our editorial focus is on the narrative of hunting and fishing. We share stories told by real hunters and anglers in the bountiful province of Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond. We thoroughly enjoy our outdoor pursuits and we love to hear and tell about others’ experiences as well. Some stories are exciting tales of great successes. Others are of heartbreaking misses told with good humour.
In our six yearly issues we endeavor to present relevant and seasonally focused content that will entertain and inform our broad audience. We are pleased to have subscribers scattered throughout the world. To some it’s a cherished piece of home, bringing back the smell of a boil-up or the thrill of a late season moose hunt. To others, it’s a look into one of the world’s foremost hunting destinations. As we look forward to our 25th year in 2015, we feel so fortunate to be able to live here, to do this and talk about it with you. We hope to be doing that for a long time to come.
